Fashion Week is over

Once upon a time, a little Fashionista was longing for a collection that covered all of her needs: great clothes, strong inspiration, and a pack celebrity show!
The first show she went to had a semi-strong collection but it wasn't enough! So she went to the Bryant Park tent yearning for good networking. She saw Paris Hilton, Solange, Andre Leon Talley, Tracey Reese, Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend but it still was enough!
So she went to the Baby Phat fashion show which had the pack networking celebrity crowd she wanted. She saw Aubrey O' Day from Danity Kane, Whitney from Top Model, Patricia Field, Ray J, and Monica. But the clothes weren’t enough! So she went to two other shows, one had the amazing clothes but boring press. The other show had ok press, ok clothes, and ok inspiration. Still searching for more she went back to Bryant Park Tent; she saw models and celebrities such as Chanel Iman, Jourdan Dunn, Joy Bryant, Alicia Keys, and Estelle.
When she got back home when fashion week was done...she thought...it is OK..."I can try harder next season for great clothes, strong inspirations, and a pack celebrity show!

The End

Wingate got a taste of fashion

The school yard full of people not for the recess fight but to see a monster on vocals...everybody chanting her name until she came out and blew us away with her first note! We are talking about Ms. Jill Scott herself at Wingate High School field...a little upset that Estelle didn't show up but Jill brought attention that made lightening flash! I tell you...she was a monster...unlike any other creature around...so beware when she comes to your town!
I had to give Wingate a piece of fashion so they could chew on...! Guys and Dolls, lets support our community when they bring music and culture to us!
On a fashion note...i love being around a mix crowd... majority African American but dress from head to toe! Its a beautiful thing when i see your brothers and sisters looking good!

Arbiters of Style: Women at the Forefront of Fashion

Every now and then i have to drop a museum post just to educate the children!
One of my favorite museums is Fashion Institute of Technology aka FIT which has these amazing exhibit!
Arbiters of Style : Women at the Forefront of Fashion was open May 21 to November 8,2008!

Press Clip from the website

Arbiters of Style: Women at the Forefront of Fashion celebrates an array of female creators, promoters and clientele who have shaped the course of fashion. This fashion exhibition features work by female designers as well as clothing and accessories worn by female department store executives, influential clients, magazine editors, muses and models. Women have played a significant role in the history of fashion and they continue to be a driving force as tastemakers and industry leaders.

Featuring over seventy looks from the Museum’s permanent collection, Arbiters of Style includes designs by Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel, Sonia Delaunay, Jeanne Lanvin, and Claire McCardell and features clothing worn by influential women such as Vogue editor Diana Vreeland, photographer Louise Dahl Wolf, and actresses Lauren Bacall and Rosalind Russell. The historical importance of these women and many others will be revealed in the display of garments from the eighteenth century to the present.

Arbiters of Style: Women at the Forefront of Fashion is organized by Molly Sorkin and Colleen Hill, along with Fred Dennis, Clare Sauro, Harumi Hotta and Lynn Weidner.

Summer look

Coachella is upon us, and while this might not mean much to our readers who aren’t decamping for the grassy lawns of Indio's Empire Polo Fields, we bet that many of you have some sort of spring/summer music festival plans. Whether you’re planning on worshiping Prince this weekend, catching Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings at Bonnaroo, or watching the Gnarls Barkley boys do their thing at Lollapalooza, you need outfits that will keep you cool without forsaking style.

We’ve put together two possibilities that will work for most of your traditional music festivals. Of course, those Glastonbury-attending gals who read WhoWhatWearDaily.com know that it's likely they’re in for another year of glorious mud, and as such, they should look into Hunters and waterproof rain jackets instead!

1. Ray-Ban Outdoorsman Aviator Sunglasses ($129)
Underneath everything, we’re pretty practical gals, which is why we’re so enamored with these sunglasses. The hook-like frames hook behind your ears, anchoring the shades to your head so you don’t lose them while engaging in some mid-afternoon dance session. Genius!

2. Opening Ceremony Henley One-Piece ($437)
A romper/playsuit is the perfect piece for an all-day outdoor festival because it’s the perfect mixture of fashion-forward and fuss-free. The above one-piece is by Opening Ceremony and is a stunning gray hammered silk. If you fear you’d thrash it to shreds, try the slightly sturdier Sparkle & Fade Brushed Onesie ($32) in midnight.

3. DV by Dolce Vita Carnival 19 Sandals ($65)
The likelihood of getting some tan lines is high, so you’ll want to skip those really elaborate gladiators when getting ready for a music fest. Something simple, likes these mahogany leather slingbacks won’t leave you regretting your choice of footwear.

4. M.A.C Nail Lacquer ($10)
If you’ve been thinking about trying something other than your usual Ballet Slippers or Sugar Daddy pale pinks, now is the time to do it! Play with a new shade like the above hot pink shade (it’s called Steamy for those inquiring minds) or some other trendy color that you don’t normally wear.

5. Diane von Furstenberg Hori Blouse ($198)
The perfect top for an outdoor music festival is something lightweight and airy, like this sublime peapod green blouse from Diane von Furstenberg. Like the romper, this blouse is breathable silk and has a drawstring waist and cuffs.

6. Hollister Country Line Shorts ($34.50)
If you don’t have a super worn in pair of jean shorts already—which you should—then immediately pick up some like these lightweight and light wash cutoffs from Hollister. We also would like to tactfully suggest trying on a size or two bigger than you normally wear, because skintight shorts are a loathsome look (and uncomfortable too).

7. Mia Enchantress Sandals ($60)
These sandals are elegant and pleasantly affordable too! The slim straps add interest to the sleek shape and the braid detailing is a nice touch. The sandals are available in a soft pewter color, as shown above, or a pale metallic gold, which is also attractive.

8. Forever 21 Beaded Glam Bangles ($9 each)
There’s something glamorous and earthy about these simple beaded bangles. While an arm of monochromatic bracelets wouldn’t look bad, we like the look of contrasting bangles better.

When I was checking my mail this came up and i thought i need to spread it!

daisy.....

Daisy is my new tag name for spring!
Daisy, imagine walking the street smelling like Marc Jacobs Daisy, a fedora hat, and a fun sun dress! Girls, before it gets to late...you have to stock up on cheap shoes (i.e. wedges are in), fun hats that can be worn day and night, and the well fit spring dress that makes you feel and look amazing. It time we enjoy our selfs with out being surrounded by a bunch of loser...dress up, get a cupcake, jump on your bike, go to the museum, go to dinner, or just go to the park! Just live your life like it is golden!

i use to be...

I used to be a poet before i fell in the love with fashion! Poetry was my way out, it was the only way for me to express myself...to express my being! It was my song...i sang all day long walking down the street. Fashion is my being.. Simplicity is the art, i wish not to conform to...so when you see me walking in the train or walking down the street...respect my style...respect my being!
