Dear fashionistassss,

If you ever wanted to know "where do designers like John Galliano's get their inspiration from?" look back at your social studies book and you will see how fashion is a recurring cycle!!
You have Marie Antoinette look with the frame with the over the top details of ribbons and you have the Christian Dior New Look 1947 which is a classic samples of you learn from your past!!
I think it is an amazing thing for Christian Dior couture fashion show to see the inspiration all over the runway.
More information on the show, check out http://www.style.com/fashionshows/review/S2009CTR-CDIOR

Elle Sept 2008 Editorial " Dream Catcher"

A classic example of well done, well styled,...and just amazing spread of Jennifer Lopez!!
A dreamcatcher is a general known as symbol of identification made from a willow hoop, on which is woven a loose net or web. The perfect comparison to Jennifer Lopez spread in Elle September 2008, styled by Joe Zee, which has a deeper meaning by "Jennifer Lopez plays both muse and icon to visionary designers" that incorporates muse/icon to dream catcher as a symbol of identification.

Today I was reading Harper Bazzar January 2009 issue and they had an article on the life of Stephen Sprouse and his influence on Louis Vuitton! The story was told that Marc Jacobs, creative designer for LV, was at Charolette Gainsberg's apartment, "she had by the side of her bed, a Louis Vuitton trunk that had been painted black by her father, and the Monogram was sort of peeking through" and that is the birth of the graffiti thought! Next he teamed up with Stephen Sprouse who was the first high fashion designer in the '80s to make clothes that hip and young and cool" and created a speedy bag full of graffiti! Years to come Jacobs collaborated with Takashi Murakami and Richard Price!
Well, on my way picking up samples I walked passed the soon to be Sprouse exhibit on Wooster Street and its so crazy! The exhibit is opening on Friday Jan 9 09 and is located Wooster street between grand & canal!

Quick Facts

Age 27
Location
New York, NY
Who is your favorite designers?
Givenchy, Barbara Bui, and Pierre Hardy
What decade do you pull inspiration from and why?
I pull inspiration from all decades. Really it depends on what I am shooting and what look we are going for.
Where do you see fashion in the next five years?
I think that fashion will be more "green" in the coming years. Being eco friendly has become a real fashion statement and I think it will be more prevalent in more high end collections in the future. Also, I can only hope to see more diversity both on the runway and behind the scenes, in the editorial and styling worlds. Those are the changes I hope to see in the coming years.
Which styling project did you enjoy the most and why?
So far I have to say the Greek ELLE shoot was the my fav. I had full creative control, I got to go back to Germany for the shoot and the team I worked with is one of my favorites to shoot with. We shoot together at least twice a year and the results are always fabulous.
In your opinion, what is a fashionista and what does Heels of a Fashionista means to you?
I think that a fashionista is someone who not only loves and appreciates fashion but also truly understands all of its elements. Heels of a fashionista I take as everyone else being on the heels of that fashionista who is on top of his /her fashion game. Everyone is just one step behind him/her and she/he takes the fashion lead and shows everyone else what to wear, how to wear it and how to make it your own.
What advice do you have for our readers?
Live life to the fullest & don't be afraid to express yourself through fashion while doing so.
